Do you supervise the work of your team?
Yes, I am hands-on and you will not only see me supervising, but also tearing out cabinets, installing them and working closely with my team.
Do you have subcontractors?
Yes. Subcontractors know their job very well. It makes sense to hire people who are the best in their field. I could do the same work, but at a much slower rate. However I will always be your main contact and the person to turn to every step of the way.
How long does it take to remodel a kitchen?
Anywhere from one to three months, depending on the scope of the work, and what you need done. I am realistic when I estimate the time it will take to deliver your kitchen, so that you can plan accordingly. Changes, workloads and materials may effect this time but I will do everything in my power to insure a timely completion.
When will you start to work on my kitchen?
Not until the cabinets are ready to drop-ship on the day I need them. I will not tear out your current cabinets until I know I will be able to install the new ones right away. I don´t want you to be waiting, without a kitchen, for days or weeks.
What kind of products do you use?
I use name brands that are trustworthy and long-lasting, such as Kholer, Insinkerator, Halo, Lutron Benjamin Moore … I have used them all and they have given me good results.
Should I expect the price to be higher than the budget when the job is finished?
No, unless you decide you want extra work done. When I give you a budget, I will let you know of any work that your kitchen, bathroom or home require that you were not aware of. For example, if you live in a condo, you may have to install a sound-barrier under the floor. I will explain everything from the start, and then you will decide what you want to go with. I cover all the aspects of a job from the start, and explain why you need to have something done a certain way. I want you to feel comfortable with the whole process from day one
What kind of prices are we talking about?
I am not the most expensive in town, but I am not the least expensive. Quality costs money, and I don´t want to shortchange you or me. I am not going to try and get rich on one project. I have many customers and I want to be fair with all of them, and that includes you.
Do you do design work and consulting work?
I am not an interior designer, but I will refer you to the best consultants. I can help you in designing your kitchen to make it what you want and need it to be. When it comes to choosing colors, paint, finishes and such, there are experienced and able experts that, for a minimal fee, will be able to guide you.
Do you provide drawings with your estimate?
I only provide drawings when the customer signs on with me. I will give you a price range on my first visit with you, and ask you if you want me to go ahead and work on a detailed budget. This frees me up to focus on giving my customers more of my time and effort.
When do I pay for the remodeling job?
Typically in any remodeling job, payment is done in draws that coincide with different parts of the work, and the last one will be on usable completion.
What are your hours?
You may contact me from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on weekends by appointment. I love my work, but I also love my family. Life is about striking a healthy balance between the two.
Do you only do kitchen remodeling?
I remodel kitchens, but also your bathrooms, a bedroom or the whole house.
Do you protect the home during the job?
I certainly do. We use plastic walls, barricades to keep dirt and dust out of the rooms that are not being worked on, and to keep pets and small children out of the working area. We protect the floor area, your carpet and we cover your furniture or move it for you to other parts of the home, making sure nothing is damaged in the process. I treat your home as I would my own.
Do you really have 35 years of experience?
I do. As soon as I finished high school I went into Architectural Drafting, I started to work in home-building shortly after that. My experience covers practically every aspect of home-building from drafting foundations, carpentry and painting to quality control. I know the industry inside out, first hand.
